A few years later, he was awarded a national scholarship and won an All-India Gold medal for musical proficiency. He has since performed at many major cultural festivals throughout India, Singapore, Japan and Europe, before relocating to Australia, where he has played a number of festivals and concerts.  He performs both classical Indian and a contemporary fusion using his unique electric e-sarod, an instrument he created.  Praashekh will perform at the World Music Café with outstanding tabla percussionist Sivakumar Balakrishnan.

Ilan Zogoria, is originally from Zimbabwe where he was influenced by the multicultural musical styles he heard all around him.  He is a veteran of the local African music scene in Australia, performing for many decades with bands such as Sundiata marimba band, African Music Congress, Ziggy Bey Jan, Afrique Acoustic, and the Ilan Zagoria Trio since 2014. Ilan’s intricate guitar work is joyous, rhythmic and very melodic weaving beautiful musical textures with fellow musicians Shane Kearney on mbira and percussion, and Brent Purser on bass.
