World Music Café presents an exceptional ‘Dinner & Show’ concert of Parisian Gypsy Jazz and Reunionese Maloya music and dance, with a three-course banquet of international cuisine, at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre on Friday 14 March 2025.

Gypsy jazz quartet, Sino Swing, play upbeat Parisian swing classics with a delicious Eastern flavour with Chen Chen Lin on the Chinese erhu, Zola Li on violin, Edwin Ch’ng on fingerpicked guitar, and Kalamunda local, Malcolm Mah on double bass.

Salama is a dynamic group performing Maloya, the traditional Reunionese music and dance style born from slavery. The group features many Indian Ocean Islands members from La Réunion, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, singing in Malagasy and Creole languages.

“We’re delighted to present a special World Music Café Harmony Week show with the City of Kalamunda at their wonderful Performing Arts Centre and showcase the incredible quality of music and diversity of culture in our Australian community,” said World Music Café producer, Jon Cope.

The World Music Café ‘Dinner & Show’ concert experience also includes an amazing three-course ‘supper club’ style menu created by Venezuelan caterer Tamara Rodriguez and her team that accommodates all dietary requirements.

World Music Café is a social enterprise established in 2019 that is ‘trading for good’ and provides economic and social inclusion for the WMC crew members of new migrant and refugee backgrounds. Described by the UWA Centre for Social Impact as ‘An Oasis of Integration in Our Country’, World Music Café was a national ‘Social Entrepreneur of the Year’ finalist in the Australian Third Sector Awards 2022.
